The Custom Publishing Council was created in 1998, as a division of Magazine Publishers of America (the association representing the consumer magazine industry) to bring organization and recognition to an emerging industry. In 2002, the organization became independent. Headquartered in New York, NY, the CPC has more than 60 members, up from 30 in 2002.
